6-Late Start
Sneef was having a hard time with these infernal humans. They made him want to spray the whole lot with noxious eye watering fumes. But, such actions would severly hurt his potential to do trade here on Helix, so he kept his biochemical ejections to himself.
The latest problem was in trying to get into the hospital to see Iruoko Nakasaya. He had never met the head of the ITA in person. He had only subjected his information to her for admission to the ITA via long range hyperwave communications while she was in the Cruan'atan sector. But now, he had the chance to meet her. He only hoped that she was not as infuriating as other humans.
However, the hospital staff kept calling him un-hygenic, which he correctly guessed as not being clean. Sneef was very clean, and insulted by this accusation. Eventually he came to understand that his natural aroma was somewhat dangerous to some of the species being served in this facility. Finally, after Iruoko learned that he was here to see her, he was admitted.
Iruoko, as best as he could gauge human reactions, was neither happy nor disgruntled to see him. He immediately passed on his condolences to her as Sneef was still not too familiar with the human small talk concept. Iruoko pleased him by asking about his ship, but before he got the chance to start talking about his pride and joy, she asked another question -- one that puzzled him. She wanted to know if he would do her a favor.
Favors were an alien concept to Sycamaranians. Barter and trade are familiar, but something for nothing is only done between mothers and their kits. Then he remembered, Iruoko is the head of the ITA. Sneef is now a member, and so Iruoko must be like a mother to him and he her kit. Sneef wondered if this ITA membership was worth it.
Eventually Sneef gave in to her inquiry. There might be something in it for him anyhow. So, he agreed to transport Iruoko to Emanon and to help her intercept her ship, the Bat.
Again, he had a hard time with the planet and race officials trying to get off world, but finally they let him go. Then he wondered if he should have informed them that he planned to proceed to the racing course and interfere with a ship in the race. Oh well, he figured as he touched the controls sending the P'hek on its way, it was too late now.
